Introducción, descripción del proceso a seguir

Introduction, overview of the process to follow

The procedure is to establish a pattern known uncertainty derived from classic topography. Then the sample is compared with the pattern and will get errors. Subsequently, we analyze the rules looking for errors that may reduce. Finally, calculate the confidence interval of the method. Once these steps have been able to compare with the estimated errors and evaluate the tolerances allowed in each case that the system is indicated by the element subjected to measurement.

Checking the laser scanner located in the vehicle with field data

The first starting point is the knowledge of the tolerances according to the area of measurement. This permit after obtaining the measurement error and its uncertainty know which cases may be indicated terrestrial laser scanner and in which not. The tolerances will find them in the normative.

To estimate the errors follow the guidelines of the standard UNE-EN ISO / IEC 17025:2005 "Conformity assessment. General requirements for the competence of testing and calibration test. "

The first point is to establish a pattern. In our case the pattern will be a geometric pattern. In one of the roads on which we recorded the data with the laser scanner to exhaustive survey proceeded by methods typical conventions and error correction techniques. 636 points were taken with a measurement error estimated at 0.3 cm (for measurement distances less than 60m). We have used a level and station brands and models ZEIS NI 40 respectively TOPCON GPT-3007N.

The first step was to which was proceeded to the elimination of points not near the sample. To do this we created a first text file with the pattern points the way, When we call it, "patron.txt":

x1 y1 z1
x2 y2 z2
x3 y3 z3
x4 y4 z4
[...]
xn yn zn

The second step was the creation of a program to read a point cloud file, compare it with the pattern and a value in cm range and was creating files x1.txt, y1.txt with coordinate values nearby.

Acceptance of nearby points (in black) on the perimeter of the point pattern (green)
rejecting points outside the perimeter (in red).

The program came with the following syntax: patron.txt reduces S1C1.las 3 directory. Where reduces the compiled C program (with gcc on Linux, Ubuntu), patron.txt is the file of the points that we set as a standard, S1C1.las is one of the files in the cloud point, 3 is the value in radio off the field and directory is the place where they will be storing different files xn-yn.txt.

After performing these operations each pair (x1, y1, z1) standard point had a collection of points (X1J, y1j, Z1J) in their area of the point cloud. Of the initial points were obtained 4,500,000,000 636 groups of 27 elements average to 3 cm range, 57 items to 6 cm range and 196 items to 9 cm.

Then each group (X1J, y1j, Z1J) was used to derive the coordinate Z1d the couple (x1, y1) and set the error generated in z1-Z1d.

This last figure gives us the key typically Gaussian error behavior. The first problem is that it is between -0.25 and +2.75 cm cm. Which is to say that is outside the range of accepted tolerances.

The error by estrangement we have reduced by applying a reduction of dimension by function:

 zd'=zd - (-0,000210 · d3 + 0,010437 · d2 – 0,086003 · d + 0,144838)

After subtracting the error depending on the offset we would have the form:
Minorando error de alejamiento
Deducted error distancing

This would be the correction section. Decreases from +2.75 cm and -0.25 cm to -1.0 cm to +1.5 cm. That is an area of 3cm to 2cm (approximately 33%.)

If we choose to separate points within five meters of the shaft and ordered according to kp.

You can add a trend line, which search and reduce the error by subtracting the longitudinal gap.

They have also made the error estimates for uncertainty less than 5%. Or, or the same errors have been calculated for a confidence interval of 95% for a normal distribution. Figure 6 tells us very clearly that this type of statistical calculation is possible. To this must be added the error of measuring own pattern.

The sum of errors is performed as:  ε (εpattern2+εmeasure2)1/2., donde εpattern = 0,3cm..

For a range of 3cm in Illa de Arosa:

Error on the road (± 5.0 meters of shaft): 7 mm. With corrections can drop to 5 mm.
Outside the driveway (> 20 meters) can reach 27.7 mm. With corrections can drop to 20.2 mm.

zd'=zd -  (0,001243 · d2 + 0,01428 · d + 0,02857)

If we analyze the tolerances concerning the road that are around the slopes centimeter and decimeter of order. We could conclude that may be a good measurement system in motion, provided they do not intend to lower tolerance values.

No need from a single example. Then we study several sections of the A-52 and OU-540. Bringing together all the statistics look a formulation could be aa common either. Although generalization adds simplicity to the problem, something else is causing particular error.

The reduction to the transverse error is achieved by the formula:

zd'=zd -  (0,001243 · d2 + 0,01428 · d + 0,02857)

The resulting error continues to decline by 33% and the maximum error (almost 60m away, and <9cm) follows the formula: ε = 0.00197 0.02331 · · d2 + d + 0.04383). So the first job is to know if our tolerance allows our error in each case.

Error by the transverse distance of the point to the vehicle path.

NOTA IMPORTANTE: / IMPORTANT NOTE:

The process applies to any terrestrial laser scanner on a vehicle.

The resulting formulation is applicable to each particular system each LST has its own distinct formulation will be discovered.

Finally. Presumably not everything is eternal. This verification process should be repeated periodically.

The first road scanned with laser / La primera carretera escaneada con láser

For the first test we chose a road recently made with only 3 km long.
We wanted to know which was the maximum possible scan going about 40 km/h on average.

PO-299, planta.

The result, 4,500,000,000 (four billion five hundred millionof points in 40 GB. The main problem was not, as originally thought obtaining the data, but the handling.  Any programor wellstopped up (or slowedif were read all points, or wellnot was blocked, but only read a small percentage of these. How much data handling without losing the accuracy and point density had been achieved?

GIS, geo-radar and roads (2006)

Years ago (2006) solve the problems of implementing the GPR profile with a GIS road. For this purpose, we chose a road, take the GPR profile with Enmacosa trailer, GPS data, and using a vibrometer IRI was obtained.

No-metal trailer manufactured in 2002

Aplication GPR-GIS from Enmacosa
Later information was attached and we had a simple document management system with graphical data georeferenced photos, IRI and GPR.
